Miami, 8 April 2026 - Transak is now a live, officially listed fiat on-ramp and off-ramp inside Wallet Development Kit (WDK) by Tether. Any wallet built with WDK can let its users on-ramp into crypto with a card, a bank transfer, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and off-ramp to their bank account.
Tether WDK is an open-source toolkit that gives developers self-custodial, multi-chain wallet infrastructure so they don't have to build it from scratch. Transak gives those wallets a way to fund fiat and get the cash out.
“Every wallet eventually needs a way for people to fund with fiat and withdraw. With Transak in Tether's Wallet Development Kit, any team building a self-custodial wallet has that from day one. The payment methods people actually use in their own market and payout processing, without building the infrastructure themselves.”
— Chandrasekar Kuppusamy, Director Of Developer Relations, Transak

Every wallet hits the same wall: getting money in and out
Every team that builds a wallet needs to solve for:
- Wallet management
- Supporting multi-chains
- Track token balances and transactions
- Allowing users to convert fiat <> crypto
WDK removes the first three. But the fourth one needs licenses, bank relationships and local payment methods in every market. That is the part Transak supports.
Closing the gap between a bank account and a self-custodial wallet
As a contributor of a native fiat module to WDK by Tether, the open-source Wallet Development Kit, and as a launch partner for Tether Wallet, Transak enables developers building on WDK to offer users a compliant route between fiat and USD₮, XAU₮, USA₮ and Bitcoin without running a separate payments integration.

What the team never has to build:
- Payment method integrations, market by market
- Licences and compliance for the money leg
- Payout rails to banks and cards
- Order reconciliation and status tracking
The arrangement stays self-custodial throughout. The user keeps their keys, partner credentials stay on the partner's own servers, and Transak handles the regulated payment leg. What used to be a multi-month project becomes part of the kit.
Any product that moves money faces the same problem
Transak fiat on-ramp and off-ramp can fast-track any product that needs money to move in and out without building the infrastructure in-house.
- Wallets and exchanges whose users have to leave the app to fund or cash out.
- Fintechs and neobanks adding crypto rails.
- Remittance and payroll paying people out in local currency.
For teams on any other stack, Transak is a partner account and an integration.
